70% of people were actually without any home at the time of coming to Chameleon House coming from short term or emergency accommodation and 9% of those were sleeping rough including in tents, cars and parks.
Along with safe housing, all young people at Chameleon House are offered the support to create and plan and implement life goals that value them and their futures and help them to value themselves. 95% take up the offer of support and the help required to achieve their goals.
The key goals are to eventually transition to sustainable and safe housing and have meaningful employment or education and training. Other goals include learning life skills such as budgeting, healthy eating and cooking, household management tasks and access to health and well being services that will provide longer term life support.
The graph below shows the huge impact Chameleon House has on the young people who call it home. When our young people leave it is with a stronger sense of self and the knowledge and skills to support them in life.
